I knew I wanted to specialise in business reporting, so from there I went to Bloomberg TV for three months.
I applied for the John Schofield Trust scheme because I wanted guidance from someone else with a specialism.
My mentor is Ronke Philips and she has been great. We have monthly meetings and she suggests how I can make the most from working across both broadcasting and print.
I currently write for Management Today magazine in the week, interviewing and writing business people from CEOs to entrepreneurs. On Sundays I’m a freelance broadcast journalist for the BBC, working in business TV News.
Ronke has introduced me to some excellent contacts and she constantly reminds me to be more focused, which has been good.
I am now thinking more about the long-term, and which form of media I ultimately want to work in. We are now working on a strategy in how I’m going to get there…
